For the first time ever, PUBG Esports is offering two consecutive global events, PGS 5 and PGS 6, providing fans with double the fun and double the excitement. Running from October 21st to November 10th, 2024, the two tournaments will span nearly a month of back-to-back action, as 24 of the best teams from around the world compete for glory. But it’s not just pride on the line—teams will be battling for their share of a $300,000 prize pool, along with those precious PGC (PUBG Global Championship) points.
What makes this event even more intense is that these two tournaments are the last chance for teams to qualify for the PUBG Global Championship (PGC) 2024. The pressure is on, and the teams are hungry to secure their spots in one of the biggest esports showdowns of the year.
The tournament format is designed to push teams to their limits. Both PGS 5 and PGS 6 follow the same structure, giving competitors a level playing field across both events.
- Group Stage: The event kicks off with the Group Stage, where 24 teams are divided into three groups (A, B, and C). Each day, these teams will face off in a series of six intense matches. The top 16 teams will advance to the next round, while the bottom eight will have to pack their bags and head home.
- Final Stage: This is where things really heat up. Over three days, the remaining 16 teams will duke it out in six matches per day, with the best-performing team over these three days crowned as the PGS champion.
The PGS 5 and 6 tournaments will both be structured identically, ensuring that all teams have an equal chance to show their skills, regardless of which tournament they’re competing in.

One of the most exciting parts of PUBG esports is its diverse map pool, where teams are tested across a variety of environments. Each day of the tournament will feature intense competition across four of PUBG’s most popular maps: Erangel, Miramar, Taego, and the relatively new addition, Rondo. The rotating maps keep teams on their toes, forcing them to adapt their strategies and styles depending on the terrain.
Group Stage:
- Day 1: Erangel (Matches 1 & 2), Taego (Match 3), Rondo (Match 4), Miramar (Matches 5 & 6).
- Day 2: Miramar (Matches 1 & 2), Rondo (Match 3), Taego (Match 4), Erangel (Matches 5 & 6).
- Day 3: Erangel (Matches 1 & 2), Taego (Match 3), Rondo (Match 4), Miramar (Matches 5 & 6).
Final Stage:
- Day 1: Miramar (Matches 1 & 2), Taego (Match 3), Rondo (Match 4), Erangel (Matches 5 & 6).
- Day 2: Erangel (Matches 1 & 2), Rondo (Match 3), Taego (Match 4), Miramar (Matches 5 & 6).
- Day 3: Miramar (Matches 1 & 2), Taego (Match 3), Rondo (Match 4), Erangel (Matches 5 & 6).
This carefully crafted map rotation ensures that each team’s versatility is put to the test, as they’ll need to excel in every corner of PUBG’s expansive battlegrounds. Whether it's the rolling hills of Erangel or the treacherous dunes of Miramar, only the most adaptable teams will come out on top.
Both PGS 5 and PGS 6 offer the final opportunities for teams to rack up PGC points, the lifeblood for securing a spot in the PUBG Global Championship 2024. Here’s how the point breakdown works:
1. 1st place: 300 points
2. 2nd place: 180 points
3. 3rd place: 120 points
4. 4th place: 90 points
5. 5th place: 80 points
6. And so on… until the 16th team.
For many teams, their PGC fate hinges on their performance in these final tournaments. A high finish could catapult them into the Global Championship, while a poor showing could leave them on the sidelines, watching from home. With such massive implications, expect to see every team give it their all in these final battles.
